Dealing with Suicide Grief

Suicide grief is unlike any other and survivors of suicide or those left behind experience unique emotions and coping takes many forms. In many ways those left behind become those in danger of not being able to live out their lives the “normal” way for a long time. As I am a process oriented person, I’ve been dealing with my own grief by trying to gather as much information as possible. I came across this pamphlet produced by the Australian government. I found it very helpful as it described a lot of the emotions I was going through and I want to share it for my family and friends who may need to understand what we are going through. I also share it with those who do not know us but could benefit from knowing that while loss is truly personal and grief is individual, WE ARE NOT ALONE.
